Museum Accommodations
Is the museum wheelchair accessible?
All galleries and restrooms are wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are available for free use on a first-come, first-served basis. To check out a wheelchair, please inquire with security at check-in.
Are service animals allowed in the museum?
Service animals are welcome. Please note that therapy animals, emotional support animals, and companion animals are not considered service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act and are not permitted.
Are you a visitor or bringing someone who is deaf or hard of hearing?
Devices with text descriptions are available. Please call 404-639-0830 or email museumtours@cdc.gov for assistance. American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters are available for guided tours, subject to interpreter availability. Please contact museumtours@cdc.gov to request an ASL interpreter. All videos in the galleries are open-captioned.

Sensory inclusive location:
KultureCity® Sensory Bags filled with items that can help lessen sensory overload are available at no cost for all ages. A weighted lap pad is also available for use while in the museum. Two quiet areas are located on the lower level and are indicated by quiet signs. One is located in the hallway next to the lower-level restrooms. The other is by the elevator in the hallway near "The AIDS Epidemic" exhibit.
Interpreters
If you need an interpreter during a large group guided tour, please indicate this while making a reservation. We can offer tours in American Sign Language (ASL), Spanish, Mandarin, Taiwanese, Bengali, Amharic, and Yoruba with at least a months’ notice. Interpreters are not guaranteed.
